My main area of interest is the underlying mechanisms of selective attention in individuals with emotional disorders. I am currently addressing this issue using primarily reaction-time paradigms and eye-tracking technology. Specifically, my Ph.D. project aims to i) investigate the relationship between covert and overt attentional bias in anxiety and depression, ii) examine the relationship between the engagement and disengagement components of attentional bias and bottom-up and top-down processing, and iii) explore the mediating role of attention control, emotion regulation, and rumination in relation to impaired disengagement and attentional avoidance.
