In this PhD project I explore and develop interventions to support attentional control and academic well-being in schoolchildren. It is based on a pilot intervention study in middle school pupils supported by TrygFonden, which showed a potential to improve attentional control. As part of this project I plan to develop and offer an intervention program adjustable to different age groups by providing teachers with learning materials on a digitally available platform.

The work builds on cognitive, educational and developmental psychology as well as research on didactics, and (digital) literacy. Denmark is one of the most highly digitalized countries, and the project has a strong emphasis on aiding teachers and pupils in using digital media in a meaningful, focused and reflective way.

Professor Signe Vangkilde supervises the project which is supported by TrygFonden, and collaborators include national and international researchers from University of Wollongong, Australia, University of British Columbia, Canada, Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom as well as University College Copenhagen, and the Danish School of Education.
