Gæsteforelæsninger med Matt Lambon-Ralph & Alex Leff

Institut for Psykologi og The Back of the Brain-projektet inviterer til to forelæsninger af professorerne Matt Lambon-Ralph og Alexander Leff.

Tid: Fredag 20. April kl. 13.15 – 15.00

Sted: Københavns Universitet, CSS (Kommunehospitalet) Lokale 2.0.63

13.15: Professor Matt Lambon-Ralph (University of Manchester): A multidimensional approach to understanding aphasia ‘types’ and their neural bases.

Abstract: Traditional aphasiology has tended to group patients via subtype “categories” with limited success. In recent work we have begun to explore a different approach which conceptualises variability in patient presentations as points in a multi-dimensional space. This talk will share some recent findings including the dimensions that appear to underpin aphasia variations and their lesion correlates.

14.15: Professor Alexander Leff (University College London): e-Therapies for aphasia rehabilitation

Abstract: In this talk I will cover several of the e-therapies we are working on for patients with aphasia. I will give examples of the three stages of app development (patient co-creation; clinical trial; roll out). These are designed for patients with acquired brain injury (stroke, brain tumours, traumatic brain injury) to be able to use with minimal help to improve specific aspects of their language function.

Efterfølgende holdes en reception på Institut for Psykologi, Øster Farimagsgade 2A, 2. sal, "Kantinen" hvor der bliver lejlighed til at møde forelæserne.

Arrangmentet støttes af Det Frie Forskningsråd / The Back of the Brain-projektet.
